How do you help people understand transformation, engage with change and stay informed and connected along the way?

Join METRO.digital and support our Digital Transformation Office across change communications, employee engagement, content creation, transformation initiatives and events. You will work with colleagues and stakeholders across countries, helping turn complex topics, decisions and progress into clear, relevant communication.

This is a practical role with room to contribute your ideas, develop your skills and take responsibility for defined change and communication tasks, with guidance and feedback.

    What you will work on:

    • Change communication and employee engagement: Support communication and engagement activities for transformation initiatives. Help prepare clear messages, stakeholder updates, feedback formats and activities that make change understandable and relevant.
    • Transformation storytelling and content: Identify stories, milestones and examples from across the business and turn them into engaging content for internal channels, presentations and selected external formats.
    • Stakeholder and team coordination: Help connect the Digital Transformation Office with leaders, project teams, People & Culture and other communication partners by gathering input, coordinating contributions, tracking deadlines and following up on reviews and approvals.
    • Internal communications: Draft and format employee updates, leadership messages, announcements, event invitations and content for internal channels (Viva Engage & Sharepoint). Help translate complex transformation topics into communication that is clear, relevant and easy to act on.
    • Events and engagement formats: Support the planning and delivery of town halls, workshops, leadership sessions and other transformation-related formats, particularly in Germany. Help with invitations, registrations, materials, on-site coordination and follow-up.
    • Campaigns, design and video: Create visuals, presentations and campaign materials. Help capture and edit short videos, including interviews, event highlights and transformation stories, adding subtitles and adapting formats for different channels.
    • Project coordination: Maintain communication plans, project trackers, stakeholder overviews and content assets. Support meeting preparation, documentation and follow-up to help keep transformation activities aligned and moving forward.
    • Listening and reporting: Help collect employee and stakeholder feedback, track communication and engagement activities, and prepare simple summaries and insights to improve future measures.
    • You are studying communications, change management, business, psychology, media, marketing or a related subject.
    • You have some practical experience creating communication or engagement content in an agency or a bigger company.
    • You write clearly, enjoy making complex topics accessible for different audiences and have an eye for detail, layout and visual consistency.
    • You can use AI tools to support tasks such as research, brainstorming, drafting and adapting content. You know how to give useful instructions, assess the output and check accuracy and tone, while respecting company guidance and confidential information.
    • You have a basic understanding of internal communications and an interest in organizational change, transformation and employee engagement.
    • You are organized, follow through on agreed tasks and feel comfortable asking questions, gathering information and working with different teams and stakeholders.
    • You have strong written and spoken English. German language skills are a must for local communication and event coordination.

You don’t need experience in every area listed. A solid foundation in communication, curiosity about transformation and a willingness to learn matter more than knowing every tool.

You will gain practical experience in change and transformation communications in an international technology environment, with opportunities to see your work published, support engagement formats and learn how a Digital Transformation Office works across teams and countries.

Please include a few examples of your work with your application. Writing samples, presentations, communication concepts, social posts, designs, videos and university or personal projects are all welcome.

    What we offer:

    • Work-life balance: Flexible working hours - up to 20 working hours/week - with the option of mobile working in agreement with your line manager, prorated holidays earned based on your contract and working time.
    • Mentoring from senior colleagues.
    • Well-being: Company medical care including a range of preventive services, such as flu shots, OTHEB employee assistance program.
    • Exciting life on campus: Free gym and sports classes, Rioba coffee bar, canteen with discounted meals for employees, discounts in our wholesale store, and many campus events.
