About lemon.markets 🍋
We enable anyone to be an investor. Our mission is to grow investing opportunities for all European customers and businesses. By empowering FinTechs, banks, and wealth managers to offer investment products, we help create financial well-being for their customers.
lemon.markets is a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform: simple digital access to capital markets through a single API. Our API-first infrastructure abstracts brokerage complexity with a well-documented API, a self-service customer operations portal, and a clear regulatory framework, so partners can launch customer-centric, compliant products in weeks, not months.
As part of the dwpbank Group, we share a clear goal: we enable anyone to be an investor by making investing in capital markets more accessible. By combining dwpbank’s long-standing expertise and stability with lemon.markets’ technology-first mindset and speed, we are building a modern, modular securities services ecosystem. Together, we offer faster time-to-market, modular services, and a modern customer experience that helps financial service providers stay competitive and respond more flexibly in a changing market.
Your Mission:
As our Operations Working Student, you will support the day-to-day processes that keep our investing products and customer operations running smoothly. Your work will include instrument management, trading monitoring, regulatory and operational tasks, as well as customer onboarding, account changes, and partner requests. You will work with experienced colleagues, learn how the securities lifecycle and customer operations work in practice, and take ownership of clearly scoped tasks as you grow into the role.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Securities Operations, Market Operations, Customer Operations, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to help create a reliable end-to-end experience for partners and customers. Expect hands-on learning, varied tasks, and the opportunity to improve how we work, without being expected to arrive as a securities or regulatory expert.
You will support our daily Investing and Customer Operations, help investigate issues, and contribute to making our processes more reliable and efficient.
In this role you will support with:
Trading Monitoring: Support daily checks of trading activity and operational workflows. Spot unusual activity, failed or rejceted orders, and data discrepancies; help investigate them and escalate findings.
Regulatory Checks & Controls: Help prepare data, maintain documentation and evidence, and track recurring regulatory and compliance-related tasks. Work closely with the responsible specialists to make sure follow-ups are completed accurately and on time.
Cross-Functional Topics: Support projects and day-to-day questions involving Investing Operations, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and other Operations teams - for example, by testing process changes, gathering information, or coordinating open items.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance: Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day workflows, help turn ideas into practical process changes, and keep operational documentation up to date.
Partner Support & Customer Operations: Help process partner requests relating to their customers, including account requests and customer-data changes, and route more complex cases to the right colleagues.
KYC Operations & Quality Assurance: Support identity-verification workflows, record checks accurately, and help review operational work so our customer processes remain dependable and compliant.
You will be successful in this role if:
You are currently enrolled at a German university in business administration, economics, operations, or a similar degree program, and will remain enrolled for at least one more year.
You are curious about investing, financial markets, and how brokerage works. Some familiarity with financial products / operational processes or some first work experience in this area is a plus.
You work carefully and in a structured way: you pay attention to details, keep track of open items, and understand why accuracy matters in a regulated environment.
You are reliable and take ownership of your tasks. You follow through, ask questions when something is unclear, and flag issues early rather than making assumptions.
You bring a learning and growth mindset. You enjoy getting to know new tools and processes, welcome feedback, and are comfortable adapting when priorities change.
You have a hands-on, collaborative approach and enjoy working with people across different teams to find practical solutions.
You are based in Berlin and available to work in a hybrid setup with regular time in the office.
How we take care of you:
🚀 Compensation package: Our working student positions are compensated at a fixed rate of €15-17 per hour.
💎 Make a real impact: Our start-up environment gives you the room to start your career, explore areas outside your role, and build expertise through ownership. As we mature and are backed by dwpbank, we’re adding a layer of resources and expertise you are benefiting from.
🕑 Flexible working hours: We know your studies come first. That’s why we offer flexible hours that adapt to your class schedule and exam periods, so you can plan your work time around your semester.
🏢 Hybrid work setup: You can work from Berlin within a hybrid model. That being said, we encourage our working student lemoneers to come to the office regularly. Being on-site allows you to learn faster, provides a more immersive experience, helps you collaborate more effectively with the team, and ensures you fully benefit from hands-on support.
📈 Grow with us: We take your personal development seriously! You’ll get regular mentorship and stretch opportunities, plus a clear career development framework with frequent feedback conversations so you always know where you stand, and what to do to level up.
🌱 People & culture: You’ll feel our culture in the small things, like Polaroids from our lemoneers’ first day and our monthly new-joiner breakfasts. But also in the bigger things, like celebrating the onboarding of new partners or our annual offsites, where the whole company comes together to connect, reflect, and celebrate.
🏝 Workation: Get out of here! At lemon.markets you can work remotely from anywhere in the EU for up to 10 consecutive days at a time, and up to 60 days per year in total.
As an equal opportunity employer, lemon.markets is committed to building an inclusive workplace. The company welcomes people from all different backgrounds, including age, citizenship, ethnic and racial origins, gender identities, individuals with disabilities, marital status, religions and ideologies, and sexual orientations to apply.
If you feel this role could be a great match for you even if you don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you, please apply.
