ROLE SUMMARY
Epicentre is a family of beloved sons and daughters of the Father with a passion for Jesus and His purposes in the earth. We honor Him by living as transforming communities of loving disciples who encounter God, disciple others, and live on mission wherever He's placed us, as a spiritual home base that plants churches locally and globally.
The Worship Director strengthens Epicentre's identity, mission, and vision by cultivating a vibrant, Spirit-led culture of worship and prayer, and by leading worship and creative teams that serve the Word, invite ministry response, and build unity for mission. In alignment with Epicentre's Ministry Philosophy, the Worship Director cultivates Godly Love (Relational Values) and Equipping-Based Empowerment (Equipping Values) while creating clear pathways to identify, train, and multiply worship and creative leaders.
Within 20 hours a week, the Worship Director gives first priority to Sunday worship and to raising up the worship team. Creative and technical execution is carried with the Technical Director and volunteers, so that the Worship Director sets direction and equips others rather than doing every task alone.
DESIRED OUTCOMES (CORE RESPONSIBILITIES)
Sunday Worship Leadership
- Lead Sunday worship with excellence, humility, and pastoral sensitivity, aligned with the preaching calendar and church vision.
- Oversee the worship leader rotation, so that Sunday worship is led well on the weeks you are not leading.
- Design worship sets and transitions that serve the Word, invite response, and encourage active participation.
- Plan sets and schedule teams in Planning Center Services with enough lead time for musicians to prepare.
- Ensure rehearsals and Sunday execution are spiritually grounded, well prepared, and unified.
- Own Sunday administration for the worship ministry, including worship team setup and teardown, coordinated with the Technical Director.
Raising Worship Leaders & Team Health
- Establish a clear pipeline for raising worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists through coaching, apprenticing, and delegated leadership.
- Build training rhythms, including the quarterly worship team gatherings, that develop musical excellence, spiritual leadership, and team leadership.
- Shepherd worship and creative volunteers with encouragement, feedback, prayer, and healthy rhythms that promote long-term flourishing.
Service Planning, Production & Creative Direction
- Lead the weekly Production & Sermon Team meeting and planning rhythms so each Sunday is clear, unified, and ready.
- Translate the service vision into an executable plan, including order of service, transitions, roles, cues, rehearsal needs, and contingencies.
- Set creative direction for visuals, stage, lighting, and video; the Technical Director leads technical execution.
- Supervise and coach the Technical Director, keeping tech systems and the tech volunteer team healthy.
- Ensure creative choices strengthen congregational participation, spiritual clarity, and emotional integrity (no performance culture).
- Partner with Communications and other teams to keep the whole Sunday experience aligned and clear.
Culture of Worship and Prayer
- Cultivate a church-wide culture where worship and prayer shape identity, unity, and mission.
- Build environments marked by the presence of God, congregational engagement, a clear theology of worship, and rhythms of prayer and ministry response.
- Partner with House of Prayer leadership so that worship leaders and musicians are shared well and developed across Sunday services, Hope Rooms, and prayer-and-worship gatherings.
Movement Events & Special Gatherings
- Provide worship leadership and planning for World Mandate LA (WMLA), Epicentre's annual regional missions conference each October, and support worship for Discipleship School, retreats, and regional events as scheduled.
Staff & Church Leadership
- Participate in staff meetings, Hope Rooms, retreats, and conferences (Epicentre and Antioch Movement), and help carry and champion Epicentre's vision.
- Perform any other task necessary to support the mission of Epicentre Church.
ANOINTED FIT: IDEAL PROFILE
We are seeking someone who demonstrates the 5 C's:

- Convictions: Alignment with Epicentre's Identity, Mission, Vision, Ministry Philosophy, the Five Circles, and Statement of Faith.
- Chemistry: Collaborative, relational, and able to build unity with staff, the tech team, and volunteers.
Training & Education
- Completion of, or commitment to, Epicentre/Antioch Discipleship School.
- Demonstrated experience leading congregational worship in a local church is required; experience leading volunteer musicians is strongly desired.
- Formal music or theological training, or equivalent experience, preferred.
SPIRITUAL & CULTURAL EXPECTATIONS
- Actively participate in Epicentre Sunday services, Lifegroups, prayer gatherings, and staff meetings.

WINS
- Sunday worship consistently helps the church encounter God, respond to the Word, and grow in unity and mission.
- Worship and creative teams are healthy, empowered, multiplying, and aligned with Epicentre's discipleship vision.
- Service planning and production rhythms are clear, on time, and life-giving, raising excellence without burnout.
- A clear leadership pipeline exists for worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and key tech and creative roles, so that Sunday worship does not depend on one person.
