Show job description

You are already an expert in your field. You are an experienced Wound Care professional with a decade or more of clinical excellence, looking for a compelling, high-impact application for your expertise.

This role asks you to bring this same set of skills and knowledge to a different challenge: determining why an incident occurred. You will work alongside nationally respected experts on casework that is consequential to industry and society, and you will keep learning for the rest of your career.

Prior forensic experience is not required. We hire for deep industry knowledge. Robson Forensic will train you to apply your clinical expertise in a forensic setting, based on our experience of nearly 40 years in providing expert witness services.

What you will do:

  • Investigate wound carecases within long-term care and other healthcare facilities.
  • Analyze complex scenarios, medical records, treatment protocols, etc., applying your comprehensive knowledge and examining whether standards of care were upheld.
  • Write clear, scientifically sound reports.
  • Provide expert testimony.

You will delve into the "why" behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standards of care.

What We Require

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Certifications: Active certification in wound care (CWON and/or WCC).

  • Experience: 10+ years of clinical wound care experience, especially in pressure injury prevention; 5+ years of nursing home experience in a Long-Term Care Residential Facility (DON, RNAC, WCC, and DWC a plus).

  • Skills: Exceptional analytical and communication skills (written & verbal).

  • Other: A clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.

Experience that helps, though not required:

  • Teaching/precepting
  • Assisted living
  • Independent living
  • Group home
  • Correctional medicine
  • EMT

Work style:

Approximately 20% of the role is travel for training, inspections, and providing sworn testimony on your investigative findings at a deposition or trial. The remainder is investigation, analysis, and report writing, working independently and as part of a collaborative team. Our experts offer and receive support/mentoring in a firm with over 100 scientists, engineers, and other professionals and manage a portfolio of 50-70 projects/clients.

Locations: Miami Lakes/Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas, NV, Dublin, OH, Lancaster, PA & Irving, TX (hybrid)
