Position Overview
Virtual Peace of Mind (VPM) seeks engaging, dependable Youth Behavioral Health Group Facilitators to deliver structured, developmentally appropriate virtual groups for K–12 students. Facilitators will help young people build coping strategies, strengthen relationships, practice emotional regulation, and develop skills that support behavioral health and school success.
Groups may address mental health and wellness, substance use prevention and recovery-related education, social skills, emotional regulation, coping and resilience, healthy decision-making, and peer relationships. Group assignments will be based on facilitator qualifications, student needs, and program requirements.
This part-time role is designed for professionals who can consistently facilitate scheduled groups during after-school evenings and/or weekends. The number of groups and hours will depend on program demand and assigned cohorts.
Primary Responsibilities

- Adapt facilitation to group dynamics, diverse learning needs, engagement levels, and student strengths.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and use approved virtual meeting and communication platforms.
Behavioral Health Content & Safety
- Deliver assigned groups on social skills, emotion regulation, stress management, coping skills, mental health education, and substance use-related topics within scope of practice.
- Recognize concerning student disclosures or behaviors and promptly follow VPM escalation, safeguarding, mandated reporting, and crisis response procedures.
- Coordinate with designated clinical staff when students require individual assessment, a higher level of care, or additional support.
- Provide psychotherapy or clinical substance use treatment only when appropriately licensed, credentialed, authorized, and supervised as required.
Program Coordination & Documentation
- Prepare for each session using approved lesson plans, materials, and group objectives.
- Record attendance, participation, progress, incidents, and required group documentation accurately within established timelines, generally within 24 hours.
- Conduct scheduled parent/guardian meet-and-greet sessions to introduce the group format, explain expectations, and address participation questions. Communicate scheduling concerns, absences, engagement barriers, and emerging group needs to the designated program or clinical lead.
- Attend required onboarding, training, case consultation, and quality improvement meetings; complete other optional program activities when offered, accepted, and approved. All assigned or approved work is paid at the same $55.00 hourly rate.
- Protect student and family information and comply with VPM privacy, documentation, and security procedures.

- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, culturally responsive engagement, and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Strong virtual facilitation skills, reliable technology, and ability to complete accurate and timely documentation.
- For clinical therapy groups: appropriate active professional licensure or other legally permitted status, with required supervision and organizational authorization.
