Coach the Students Who Need It Most
Clayful is building the youth coaching model this country is missing. We partner with school districts to give middle and high school students free, on-demand coaching, so a kid’s access to support doesn’t depend on their zip code. We need skilled coaches to deliver it. If you’ve coached teams, mentored kids, worked in youth programs, or been the adult young people trust, we want to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll coach students in grades 4–12 through Clayful’s platform, using chat, audio, and video. Students bring real challenges: academic pressure, conflict with friends and family, stress, and figuring out who they are. Your job is to help them work through it and leave with tools they can use.
1099 contract position
$20/hour, plus bonus opportunity
Monday–Friday, 5am–10pm PT, scheduled around student demand (peak times are ~7am–2pm and 4–7pm PT)
Typically 1–3+ hours per week, with lighter weeks during breaks and summers
A note on compensation: Clayful coaches work with students who would otherwise have no access to mental health support due to financial barriers. Our rates reflect our school-district partnerships, not the private coaching market. Many of our coaches carry this work alongside other roles. If you're looking for a primary income source, this likely isn't the right fit. If you want flexible, meaningful work that reaches young people who need it most, keep reading!
What You’ll Do
Run focused coaching sessions that help students set goals, solve problems, and build resilience
Work effectively with students from diverse and historically underserved communities
Handle high-stakes conversations using clear crisis protocols, with licensed Coach Supervisors backing you up in real time
Sharpen your skills through ongoing training as Clayful’s tools and programs evolve
What You Get
Training before your first session. You’ll learn coaching frameworks, crisis protocols, and our platform before you coach a student.
Backup when it counts. Licensed Coach Supervisors are available live during every session. You're never navigating a hard moment alone.
Control over your schedule. You choose hours that fit around your life.
A team that takes the work seriously. You'll be part of a team that shares your values — and your unique love of working with young people.
A chance to shape the model. This is a growing startup, and coach input directly shapes how we work.
Impact you can measure. Every student you coach is one who wouldn’t have support otherwise.
“I’ve been with Clayful for almost 4 years because I believe in what it stands for. I think it meets kids where they are.” — Clayful Coach, Florida

You’ll Do Well Here If...
