Would you like to live an international experience outside Europe while developing your veterinary career and gaining greater clinical and surgical independence?
The Vet Office is recruiting
Small Animal Veterinary Surgeons, both junior and senior, to join a modern veterinary hospital in
Vietnam, with availability to start in
September or October 2026.
You will work
100% in English alongside an international team of veterinarians from different countries.
We are looking for professionals who are eager to learn, develop and progressively take on greater responsibility.
You do not need to be an experienced surgeon, but you should have a genuine interest in developing your surgical skills and becoming increasingly confident and independent.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Both junior and senior veterinarians are welcome to apply.
- Availability to start in September or October 2026.
- Good level of English to communicate confidently at work. No official English certificate is required.
- Confidence in general practice consultations or a strong interest in developing these skills.
- Interest in learning and improving soft tissue surgery, including spays, castrations and other routine procedures.
- Previous experience in surgery and dental extractions is an advantage, but advanced surgical skills are not essential.
- Positive attitude, initiative and ability to work within a multicultural environment.
- Motivation to develop greater clinical and surgical independence.
Important: Clinical Independence
We are looking for veterinarians who want to learn and develop, but who also have the ambition to become
self-sufficient professionals capable of managing their own cases independently.
There will be days when you work alongside more experienced veterinarians and receive
support and supervision, particularly during your initial adaptation and professional development.
However, there will also be days when
direct veterinary supervision may not be available. For this reason, it is important to have initiative, good decision-making skills and the willingness to progressively take on greater responsibility and independence.
What is offered?
- Permanent, full-time contract.
- 4-day working week, providing an excellent work-life balance.
- Salary of USD 2,000 per month, highly competitive considering the cost of living in Vietnam.
- Full support and management of your visa, work permit and professional registration.
- Accommodation provided upon arrival.
- Comprehensive relocation support throughout the entire process.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Generous annual CPD budget.
- Support for certifications and further qualifications.
- Opportunities to attend international veterinary conferences.
- A genuine opportunity to develop your clinical and surgical experience.
Modern and Fully Equipped Veterinary Hospital
You will have access to:
- In-house laboratory.
- Digital X-ray.
- Ultrasound.
- Dental radiography.
- Inhalation anaesthesia.
- Advanced patient monitoring equipment.
- Infusion pumps.
- Fully digital, paperless clinical management software.
What will your day-to-day work look like?
You will become part of an
international veterinary team that works collaboratively and shares knowledge and experience.
The aim is to help you continue developing professionally while progressively gaining
confidence and independence in general medicine and surgery.
The hospital is committed to providing high-quality veterinary medicine, allowing sufficient time for each consultation to perform appropriate diagnostics, establish comprehensive treatment plans and provide personalised care to every patient and owner.
You will work alongside both senior and junior veterinarians, reception staff and qualified veterinary assistants. The level of support will vary depending on the day and the team available, so we are looking for people who are comfortable with a combination of
learning, collaboration and independent work.
You will also have the opportunity to voluntarily participate in
animal welfare campaigns, neutering programmes and charitable projects alongside local and international organisations.
Why Vietnam?
Vietnam offers the opportunity to develop an
international veterinary career while benefiting from a considerably lower cost of living than in many European countries.
This allows you to enjoy a
comfortable lifestyle, travel and potentially save money.
On your days off, you can explore
beaches, mountains, rice fields, national parks and some of the most dynamic cities in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam is also an excellent base for travelling throughout Asia, with destinations such as
Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and the Philippines within easy reach.
This position can be much more than a new job: it is an opportunity to
step outside your comfort zone, gain independence, improve your English, develop your surgical skills and experience life abroad.
