Description

Do you want to join a team dedicated to supporting our scientists and researchers, answering the next mission-hard questions in space science, and ensuring our nation's freedom of movement within our solar system?

If so, we are looking for someone like you to join the Applications, Analysis, and Services group at APL!

If you are graduating with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Applied Mathematics, we would love to have you join our team!

We are seeking creative new software engineers to help us develop mission-enabling software systems, support impactful analysis, and maintain the tools we employ to deliver both. We continuously cultivate curiosity, collaboration, and partnership within our staff. We value substance, impact, and innovation. You will join a hardworking, multidisciplinary team of software engineers committed to integrity and honesty and passionate about extending innovative software engineering to address our sponsors' toughest problems.

As a member of the Applications, Analysis, and Services group, you will develop the next generation of autonomous systems for spacecraft missions, support our world-class scientists as they unravel the mysteries of our solar system and beyond, and ensure the safety of our nation. You will build ground and science data systems, data processing pipelines, and data visualizations. We foster an environment of perpetual personal development, innovation, and candid feedback. Your creative contributions will help mission operators be successful.

  • Can ultimately obtain Top Secret/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you:

  • Have a minor concentration in Physics, Mathematics, or Astronomy.
  • Have knowledge of DevSecOps engineering, process automation, and agile development concepts.
  • Have experience with professional software development tools, such as integrated development environments (IDEs), version control, issue trackers, debuggers, and continuous integration tools.
