Position Overview
International has a great opportunity for Second Shift Machinists in our Huntsville Facility to support high‑volume production through the operation of CNC and PLC‑controlled machinery to produce precision, high‑quality components.
The Powertrain Manufacturing Plant in Huntsville is a technologically advanced powertrain manufacturing facility that produces high-quality diesel engines and transmissions.

What We Offer
- $34.50/hour for 3-4 years of experience, + 6% 2nd shift differential
- $38.00/hour for 5+ years of experience, + 6% 2nd shift differential
- $2,500 sign on bonus (50% upon hire and 50% after 90 days of employment)
- $7,500 for relocation if more than 50 miles from work location

- 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM

Responsibilities
- Works within the Production & Logistics (P&L) Way, reads follows, and identifies improvements for verbal and standard written work instructions (SWI), position standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrates role model level P&L Way attitudes & behaviors, core values, and excellent attendance.
- Practices safe work behavior, including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adherence to safety guidelines. Identifies and corrects or escalates potentially unsafe situations/conditions.
- Complies with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements; reports hazards, environmental risks, and incidents; uses required PPE; operates equipment safely; and helps maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
- Role model of the 100% mindset and takes full ownership and responsibility of position/station. Understands impact of work to outcomes and production interdependencies.
- Demonstrates advanced level proficiency in the department’s core processes, with the ability to independently execute standard workflows and identify routine issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.
- Meets the required competency or certification standards for workstations, areas and processes per the department skills matrix.
- Executes standard work within takt and demonstrates proper Andon utilization, exhibiting the courage to speak up, identify deviations, and initiate communication without hesitation. Exhibits the “Right from me” behavior.
- Active participant to continuous improvement efforts and problem-solving methods.
- Collaborates with engineering on new solutions and new product introductions.
- Maintains normal situation, 5S standards, good organization of workspace, and housekeeping.
- Performs routine inspections on products, processes, and materials to ensure work output meets product specifications.
- Can explain issues and targets on the RTM board and take responsibility for countermeasures and actions.
- Keeps Team Lead and Supervisor informed of any issues or challenges.
- Monitors tool wear and performs tooling changes as required.
- Verifies compliance with process instructions and control plans; escalates deviations to Team Lead.
- Records defect data in systems accurately and timely.
- Confirms gage calibration requirements for engine components.
- Proactively assesses equipment condition to anticipate and resolve potential production issues.
- Monitors special characteristics to ensure control plan compliance.
- Uses computer systems to analyze and interpret production data.
- Monitors system outputs to ensure processes are operating within control plan parameters.
- Responds to machine faults and implements corrective actions.
- Troubleshoots operational issues and performs on-the-spot repairs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 3 years of Machining Experience
OR
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 5 years of Machining Experience

- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Must be willing to work any shift
- Physical requirements (ability to the following for up to 10 hours per shift):
- Walk, sit, stand
- Lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds
- Head/neck movement
- Reach outward or above the shoulder
- Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
Ability to work different shifts and overtime as needed
Basic computer skills
Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Ability to complete and maintain required safety, quality, and workstation training/certification
Desired Skills
- Technical College certificate in Machine Tool Technology or related discipline
- Experience working in a high-performance team environment
- Experience in metal cutting machining, reading manufacturing drawings including GD&T and/or operating production machinery
- Demonstrates a consistent team mind set and positive attitude

Starting hourly rates for these positions are based on related experience as noted below:
- 3-4 years experience, $34.50/Hr
- 5 or more years experience, $38.00/Hr
