About the Company
Join a leading distributor of industrial fluid power components and solutions, where technical expertise, consultative selling, and long-term customer relationships drive everything we do.
WHO WE ARE: We provide hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid power solutions to industrial customers across a wide range of markets, backed by decades of experience and a reputation for technical excellence and reliable service.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Outside Sales Account Manager to grow our New Orleans and South Mississippi territory. This isn't a typical outside sales role — it's an opportunity to combine hands-on technical knowledge with consultative selling to help industrial customers solve real fluid power challenges. You'll work directly with engineers, project managers, and maintenance managers to identify needs, recommend solutions, and grow a defined territory. Relocation Assistance is Available!
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established territory by strengthening existing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Meet with engineers, project managers, and maintenance managers to recommend hydraulic and pneumatic component solutions
- Spec out actuators, valves, cylinders, compressors, regulators, and fittings based on customer application needs
- Read and interpret hydraulic symbols and schematics to support customer troubleshooting and system design conversations
- Apply hydraulic calculations (pressure, force, area relationships, fluid power horsepower, pump flow/speed/horsepower) to properly size and recommend components
- Understand and explain manifold design and function to customers and engineers
- Plan and execute a consistent schedule of customer visits (approximately 25 calls per week) while maintaining an active sales pipeline
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers and manufacturer partners through technical expertise and application support
- Increase market share through strategic account management, consultative selling, and new business development
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of industrial sales experience, with direct, hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, and pumps
- Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and the ability to read hydraulic symbols and schematics
- Understanding of hydraulic manifolds and their function
- Demonstrated experience specifying pneumatic and hydraulic components (valves, cylinders, actuators, compressors, regulators, fittings)
- A consultative sales approach with a track record of calling on engineers, project managers, and maintenance managers — not just purchasing departments
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at every level, from maintenance technicians to plant leadership
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

This is a field-based role covering New Orleans and South Mississippi, requiring local day trips with occasional overnight travel. Relocation Assistance is available!
