Role Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Accounts Payable Manager who brings a strong sense of ownership to the table and excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This role will be integral in supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations, managing vendor relationships, and partnering with our internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in navigating ambiguity and balancing competing priorities while maintaining a consistently high standard for accuracy and precision. This role is more than just processing invoices – you’ll leverage strong accounting fundamentals daily while building a scalable Accounts Payable function. Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, from invoice intake and processing to approvals, payment disbursement, and account reconciliation. Process a high volume of invoices and requests – ensuring proper coding, contract and purchase order review, approvals, and adherence to company procedures. Lead vendor management by maintaining pristine records, facilitating vendor relationships and communications, and proactively resolving issues and discrepancies. Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, and Finance to ensure accurate three-way match, goods receipt, and timely payments. Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with tax reporting and regulatory requirements, including annual 1099 filing. Drive continuous improvement across the accounts payable function by identifying opportunities for automation, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and adoption of best-practice processes. Collaborate with the broader accounting team on month-end financial close activities, external audit requests, and ad-hoc projects. Work 4-5 days per week out of our office in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another related field or equivalent work experience 5+ years leading the AP function Uncompromising attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills paired with strong accounting judgment and a solutions-driven mindset Passionate about accounting operations with a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves mentality Preferred Requirements: Experience with Netsuite and/or Ramp Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other high-growth manufacturing environments Why CHAOS?
