Accounts Receivable Job Responsibilities :

  • Process daily customer payments received through ACH, cash, checks, credit cards, and other approved payment methods.
  • Apply ACH payments accurately to the appropriate customer accounts, invoices, and open balances.
  • Process and apply cash, check, and credit card payments received from all store locations.
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets and payment reports for payment uploads, batch processing
  • Open, sort, incoming mail, including customer payments, remittance information,
  • Identify customer accounts associated with mailed payments.
  • Create and maintain check batches for customer payments received from stores, customers
  • Verify check amounts, payment details, and supporting documentation before entering payments into the accounting system.
  • Make bank deposits and retain accurate deposit documentation for reconciliation and audit purposes.
  • Make corrections to payment postings when errors are identified and document adjustments according to company procedures.
  • File and retain payment documentation, deposit records, remittance information, and related correspondence in an organized manner.
  • Support month-end accounts receivable procedures by ensuring payments are posted, deposits are recorded, and outstanding issues are communicated.
  • Follow established internal controls, cash-handling procedures, payment-processing guidelines, and company accounting policies.
  • Protect confidential customer and financial information while handling payment records and account documentation.
