Job Purpose: The Teacher Education program at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, invites applications for its Adjunct Instructor Pool focused on Washington State teacher certification coursework. We welcome applications from individuals with 5–7 years of K–12 teaching experience who demonstrate specialized expertise in K–12 educational practice. We seek candidates who can support our students in meeting Washington State teacher certification standards and contribute to our shared work preparing future educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and supporting preservice teachers in developing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to effectively serve K–12 students in diverse and complex classroom environments. Our program focuses on preparing preservice teachers who can cultivate inclusive classroom environments where identities, cultures, and languages are valued as assets for learning. Adjunct instructors are responsible for course planning, teaching class sessions, creating and evaluating assignments, submitting grades, and being available to meet with students virtually or in person as needed.
