Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice
Provider (APP) provides specialized psychiatric consultative services to
medical and surgical teams at JPS. This role focuses on evaluating and managing
patients with co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions across various units
within the main medical hospital.
Providers will work
closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans,
enhance patient outcomes, and support integrated patient-centered care.
Additionally, they will foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships
with providers across multiple medical and surgical specialties to ensure
seamless communication, continuity of care, and best practices in managing
complex patient needs.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Coordinates multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.
-Reviews medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
-Refer patients to appropriate services as needed.
-Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health guidelines.
-Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
-Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior
-Collaborates with referring physicians, residents, clinical, and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
-Supports academic, educational and research initiatives, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
-Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
-Build positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim -Health experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
-Serves as a community resource.
-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
-Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with PMHNP certification OR Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification/Specialized
Training:
-Current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification.
-DEA Certification
-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience
-Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an advanced practice provider in a psychiatric setting.

Schedule: Flexible due to 7 day/week coverage needs: 5 eight-hour shifts (8a-5p), 4
ten-hour shifts (8a-6p or 7a-5p), or 3 twelve-hour shifts available
(7a-7p)
