AI Engineer (Mid-Level, Senior)

About us

Precognition Labs builds AI agents that work right inside the browser for Trust & Safety, Fraud, Risk & Compliance teams. Our agents handle case summarization, case prioritization, and drafting emails and notes, while every decision stays with the human specialist and every action is recorded. We focus on high-impact AI where precision, reliability, and responsible deployment matter.

The role

We're hiring AI Engineers at mid and senior levels to design, build, and ship agentic AI systems used by real investigation teams. You'll work directly with our founder and customers, own features end to end, and help shape how we build as we grow.

Levels

• Mid-level (5–10 years): You own features and pipelines independently from design to production, and you measure and improve how well the AI performs.
• Senior (10+ years): You've architected production systems and agentic AI, led projects from concept to launch, and raised the technical bar for your team.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience
• Shipped at least one production LLM or agent system that real users depend on
• You can explain how you measured its quality, how it failed, and what you changed
• Strong instincts for what information to give the model, and when a human should stay in the loop
• Proficiency in Python and modern tooling for testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
• Clear communication and comfort owning work in a small, fast-moving team

Nice to have

• Background in Trust & Safety, fraud, risk, compliance, or investigations
• Experience with evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop review systems
• Browser automation or browser extension experience

Location

Hybrid, Redmond, WA: 3 days a week in office. Relocation support available. We can support visa transfers (such as H-1B), but are unable to sponsor new visas at this time.

Compensation

• Mid-level: base salary of $120K–$180K, plus a 25% annual target performance bonus
• Senior: base salary of $180K–$240K, plus a 25% annual target performance bonus

All levels include 0–2% equity over 4 years, scaled by experience.
