This role is responsible for process definition, qualification, control, technical governance, and process integrity for critical structural and functional applications .

Role Summary

This leader will own deep technical expertise and governance for special processes across the wind manufacturing network. The role will qualify and control special processes, approve process specifications and process windows, investigate failures, support engineering and supplier changes, and ensure process integrity for critical structural parts and high-risk operations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead advanced manufacturing engineering activities for special processes across Wind Manufacturing
• Own deep technical expertise, qualification, and control of designated special processes
• Approve process specifications, parameters, and process windows
• Develop and maintain standards, validation methods, PFMEA inputs, and control strategies for special processes
• Investigate material and process failures to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
• Support supplier and engineering changes affecting materials and special processes
• Ensure process integrity and compliance for critical structural parts and safety/quality-sensitive applications
• Partner with Quality and Engineering on process audits, capability reviews, and special process governance
• Support product launches, process transfer, and industrialization of special process requirements
• Standardize special process methods and acceptance criteria across sites
• Build technical capability and training in special process control and discipline
• Foster strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, and technical rigor

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Significant experience in manufacturing engineering or special process engineering in a complex industrial environment
• Deep expertise in one or more relevant special processes such as torque-critical assembly, coatings, welding, brazing, heat treatment, insulation, bonding, or related manufacturing technologies
• Experience with process qualification, validation, specification control, and failure analysis
• Experience leading technical teams and cross-functional problem solving
• Strong problem-solving, technical judgment, and stakeholder management skills

Desired Characteristics

• Experience in heavy industry, energy manufacturing, or wind manufacturing
• Strong understanding of PFMEA, control plans, process capability, special process qualification, and audit methods
• Ability to standardize critical process controls across multiple sites
• Strong lean manufacturing and continuous improvement mindset
• High level of technical credibility and disciplined execution

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $144,000.00 and $240,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
