Description About Texas Regional Physicians Texas Regional Physicians (TRP) is a physician-led, multi-specialty medical group serving communities throughout the greater Houston area. TRP operates a network of hospital-affiliated practices and ambulatory surgical facilities, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a broad range of specialties. We are committed to fostering a collegial, physician-driven practice culture that supports clinical autonomy, professional growth, and a sustainable work-life balance. Position Summary Texas Regional Physicians is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to join our growing team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care across a variety of surgical and procedural settings, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC), for a diverse patient population. This role offers a mix of hospital-based and ambulatory surgical center coverage, with opportunities to participate in perioperative leadership and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Provide pre-operative assessment, risk stratification, and anesthesia planning for surgical and procedural patients. • Administer general, regional, neuraxial, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) across a range of surgical specialties. • Monitor and manage patients' physiological status throughout surgical procedures, adjusting anesthesia as clinically indicated. • Manage post-anesthesia care, including pain management and recovery protocols, in coordination with PACU staff. • Respond to and manage perioperative emergencies, including airway management and hemodynamic instability. • Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and other perioperative team members to ensure coordinated, efficient care. • Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia records in compliance with TRP and facility documentation standards. • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency and after-hours anesthesia coverage as assigned. • Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and anesthesiology residents/fellows as applicable under a care team model. • Engage in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental peer review. • Maintain compliance with hospital bylaws, credentialing requirements, and TRP clinical protocols. Requirements Qualifications • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school. • Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program. • Fellowship training (e.g., cardiac, obstetric, pediatric, pain management, or regional anesthesia) a plus, but not required. • Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date). • Current DEA registration. • Eligibility for hospital privileges at TRP-affiliated facilities in the Houston area. • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain). • Strong clinical judgment, procedural skill, and ability to perform effectively in high-acuity, time-sensitive situations. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary perioperative environment. Compensation & Benefits • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including productivity-based incentives. • Partnership/shareholder track available. • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision insurance. • Retirement plan with employer contribution (401(k) or profit-sharing). • Medical malpractice (occurrence-based) coverage. • Paid time off and CME allowance with dedicated CME days. • Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates. • Support staff and administrative infrastructure provided, including CRNA care team model. Practice Environment TRP anesthesiologists practice across a network of Houston-area hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers equipped with modern anesthesia technology and monitoring systems. The group offers a supportive care team model, predictable scheduling options, and a collaborative perioperative culture. Houston offers a low cost of living relative to other major U.S. metro areas, a diverse and vibrant community, excellent schools, and a wide range of cultural, culinary, and outdoor recreational opportunities. How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a current CV, copy of medical license, and a cover letter describing areas of clinical interest to the Texas Regional Physicians Recruitment Team. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule an initial interview. Texas Regional Physicians is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
