API Integration Developer (MuleSoft / Boomi)

We are partnering with an enterprise client to modernize their middleware landscape and streamline system interoperability. We are seeking an experienced API Integration Developer (MuleSoft / Boomi) to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade integration flows and API ecosystems.

In this role, you will bridge disparate legacy systems, SaaS applications, and modern cloud microservices within our client’s environment. You will be instrumental in implementing API-led connectivity frameworks (System, Process, and Experience layers), automating data transformation workflows, and ensuring secure, reliable data exchange across the enterprise.

Core Responsibilities

• Integration Development: Design, build, test, and deploy enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or Boomi (Dell Boomi).
• API-Led Architecture: Implement multi-tier API-led connectivity (System, Process, Experience APIs) and define contract specifications using RAML / OpenAPI (OAS).
• Data Transformation & Mapping: Author complex data transformations and mappings using DataWeave (for MuleSoft) or Boomi Map Functions/Groovy scripts.
• API Security & Policies: Apply enterprise security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, IP Whitelisting, Rate Limiting) across API Gateways and endpoints.
• Monitoring & Support: Implement automated error handling, exception logging, and monitoring via Anypoint Monitoring, Boomi Process Reporting, or SIEM tools.
• CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Integrate APIs into continuous delivery pipelines using Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

Selection Criteria

• Integration Platform Mastery: Proven commercial development experience using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4) or Boomi.
• API Standards & Protocols: Deep technical expertise in REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, RAML, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Transformation Languages: Advanced hands-on skills in DataWeave 2.0 or Boomi custom mapping and scripting (Groovy/JavaScript).
• Enterprise Messaging & Systems: Experience integrating enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, NetSuite) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS).
• Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship/transfer.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD) or Boomi Certified Associate/Professional Developer.
• Java development background and experience with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (EDA) and pub/sub messaging models.
