Senior Full Stack Engineer

We are partnering with an enterprise client to accelerate their core product engineering roadmap and build resilient web applications. We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of end-to-end software development, frontend user interfaces, and backend microservices.

In this role, you will bridge modern web UI architectures and performant backend services within our client’s ecosystem. You will be instrumental in designing clean REST/GraphQL APIs, optimising client-side performance, and deploying scalable features across cloud-native environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Full Stack Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• API Design & Microservices: Build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints backed by modern asynchronous services and caching layers (Redis).
• State Management & UI Performance: Architect responsive frontend workflows using modern React hooks, state management (Redux Toolkit/Zustand), and server-side rendering (Next.js).
• Database Design & ORM: Model and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) schemas using modern ORMs (Prisma, TypeORM).
• CI/CD & Cloud Integration: Package and deploy applications using Docker and cloud services (AWS/Azure) within automated continuous delivery pipelines.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright) to ensure high code quality.

Selection Criteria

• Core Stack Mastery: Proven commercial experience building production applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Backend & Systems Design: Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, backend microservices, REST/GraphQL design, and database optimization.
• Modern Tooling: Solid proficiency with modern frameworks (Next.js, Express, NestJS) and relational/non-relational databases.
• Testing & DevOps Basics: Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, Git workflows, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship/transfer.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Hands-on experience with Next.js App Router and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda).
• Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Production experience in Fintech, SaaS, or high-traffic consumer web platforms.
