Our team in Industrial Group is looking for an Applications Engineer to join our Servo Valve team in East Aurora, NY.
As Applications Engineer, you'll serve as a trusted technical partner to customers across a wide range of industrial applications. You'll help customers troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, select the right products, and solve challenging system-level problems involving hydraulics, controls, electronics, and mechanical systems.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys customer interaction, hands-on problem solving, and applying technical expertise to real-world applications. You'll work alongside a highly experienced team of product and applications engineers while developing deep expertise in Moog's industry-leading servo valve technology.
As Applications Engineer with Moog’s Industrial Group, you'll work directly with customers to solve complex engineering challenges using some of the most advanced motion control technology in the world. You'll join a collaborative team of technical experts, build specialized knowledge in servo valve applications, and have a direct impact on customer success across a broad range of industrial markets.
To be considered for Applications Engineer, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in a technical, customer-facing, applications, systems, field service, or product support role.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and an ability to independently solve technical challenges.
Ability to travel approximately 20-25% domestically.
It’s preferred if you bring:
Experience with servo valves, hydraulic systems, fluid power, motion control, industrial automation, or controls systems.
Experience reading and interpreting hydraulic, electrical, and system-level schematics.
Knowledge of sensors, controls, and electronic components used in industrial systems.
Background supporting customers in industrial, manufacturing, automation, or motion control environments.
Experience providing consultative technical recommendations and customer-focused solutions.
As Applications Engineer, you will:
Serve as the primary technical resource for customers using Moog servo valve solutions.
Diagnose and resolve system-level issues involving hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Recommend products and solutions that align with customer performance objectives and application requirements.
Support customers with troubleshooting, system optimization, product selection, and application guidance.
Conduct on-site assessments, system verification, and occasional valve tuning activities.
Translate customer needs into technical requirements that support proposals and business opportunities.
Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and global product teams to ensure exceptional customer support.
Build long-term customer relationships by serving as a trusted technical advisor.

Salary Range Transparency:

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
