Responsibilities

The Hospitality and Tourism Management program seeks a full-time faculty member who combines excellent teaching with meaningful hospitality-industry expertise. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience in lodging or resort operations, revenue management, hospitality finance, or related areas and will be able to connect industry practice with classroom learning in preparing students for leadership roles in the global hospitality and tourism industry.

Teaching requirement is typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not necessarily all) of the following subject areas/courses: Lodging operations & hospitality technology, Hospitality-related financial management and data-driven decision making, International and cross-cultural hospitality, Event design & management, Business management, leadership or other courses in the Business Management Program.
Scholarship: Faculty are expected to remain professionally and academically engaged through research or creative endeavors and on-going professional development.
Citizenship: Faculty are expected to contribute actively to the university community and their profession.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management or other relevant business area is required. Foreign equivalent degree from nationally accredited institutions accepted.

Benefits

Salary range: 115K to 137K, depending on credentials (highest degree earned), academic rank (assistant or associate professor) and experience.
Housing stipend.
A relocation expense package is provided.
Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”).
Standard BYU-Hawaii benefits package for regular full-time employees.
