This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to provide optimal medical care to older adults for surgical and non-surgical patients at The University of Kansas Health System, while also delivering consultative services to colleagues within the faculty. As a clinician educator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals, including Geriatrics Fellows, Internal Medicine residents, Family Medicine residents, and medical students, through hands-on teaching in clinical settings. As part of our dedicated geriatric team, the faculty member will balance responsibilities between inpatient consultations and coverage in skilled nursing facilities. Regular participation in educational and administrative conferences, as guided by your immediate supervisor, will ensure ongoing professional development and alignment with departmental goals. Collaboration with faculty and interdisciplinary professionals is essential, particularly in implementing the Age Friendly Health System Initiative and contributing to the Landon Center on Aging, which integrates community engagement, education, research, and clinical care.
