Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation

About the Role

Join a collaborative legal team as an Associate Attorney handling civil litigation matters from intake through settlement or trial. You will manage your own caseload with support from paralegals and experienced colleagues while taking an active role in case strategy and courtroom work.

What You'll Do

• Manage civil litigation cases from initiation through settlement or trial, including matters involving employment law, school law, and general civil litigation.

• Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, and take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and other witnesses.

• Attend hearings, argue motions, and prepare for and conduct bench and jury trials.

• Meet with clients to develop litigation strategies and negotiate or execute settlements.

• Collaborate in person with colleagues on case strategy and litigation decisions.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 years of civil litigation experience, including strong legal writing, motion practice through summary judgment, and discovery.

• Experience independently managing cases and a caseload from intake through resolution, with limited supervision.

• Deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.

• Trial experience as first or second chair is preferred; candidates should be prepared and eager to try cases.

• Background in employment law, school law, insurance defense, or general civil litigation.

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Washington State Bar membership in good standing, or ability to obtain membership.

• Stable employment history and comfort working in person with a high degree of autonomy.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $150,000 to $200,000. Visa sponsorship is available.
