What you’ll be doing:

  • Review telephone numbers registered for call authentication and branded calling solutions to verify ownership and Right of Use using available data and supporting documentation, approving, rejecting, or requesting additional information as appropriate.
  • Investigate conflicting, incomplete, or unexpected vetting results and determine when additional research, testing, or documentation is required.
  • Support both individual and bulk telephone-number vetting requests.
  • Perform recurring verification of previously vetted telephone numbers when required.
  • Investigate suspicious or anomalous telephone-number activity and document findings for further review or escalation.
  • Manage telephone-number vetting tickets and communicate with clients and partners regarding questions, discrepancies, additional information requirements, and results.
  • Collaborate with Support, Implementation, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to investigate and resolve vetting-related issues.
  • Use SQL and other data-analysis tools to research telephone numbers, historical activity, vetting results, and anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to identify trends, operational concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve vetting efficiency through process improvements, automation, and enhancements to existing tools and workflows.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, testing, and validation for new or enhanced vetting tools, processes, products, and verification methods.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for vetting processes, exceptions, investigations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Escalate technical or operational issues to the appropriate resources when necessary.
  • Mentor and train interns and less-experienced team members.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently investigate conflicting or incomplete information and make consistent, evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong investigative and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret significant amounts of data.
  • Solid SQL skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain vetting requirements and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple requests, investigations, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly document findings, processes, and requirements.
  • Ability to learn new applications, workflows, products, and data sources.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across customer-facing, operational, product, and technical teams.

Bonus Points:

  • Customer service or client-facing experience.
  • Technical support or troubleshooting experience.
  • Previous experience in data analysis or research.
  • Experience with fraud prevention, risk, compliance, or investigative work.
  • Experience with ticketing or case-management systems.
  • Experience reviewing telephone-number ownership, carrier, or Right of Use documentation.
  • Experience identifying suspicious or anomalous activity through data analysis.

The mobile experience is broken. 85% of people won’t answer a call from an unknown number. Thanks to scammers and bad actors, the "Unknown Caller" or faceless "800" number has become a symbol of anxiety, causing legitimate connections to be lost in the noise.

First Orion provides multiple, cutting-edge ways to bridge the gap between businesses and consumers:

  • Identity Over Anonymity: Through solutions like INFORM® Branded Calling, we replace mystery numbers with verified brand identities, giving people a reason to pick up with confidence.
  • Bulletproof Security: Our real-time fraud detection and scam protection provide transparency at a global scale.
  • Actionable Intelligence: We use advanced analytics to help companies optimize their reach and protect their reputation.

We know that world-changing technology starts with a world-class culture. As a 2026 Amazing Workplace for two consecutive years and a certified Great Place to Work for more than 8 years, our foundation is simple: “People First.” We believe our team members are our greatest asset, which is why we’ve built a workplace rooted in the same trust and transparency we provide to our customers.
