Job Summary
Based at the Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporate Office in Orlando, FL and reporting to the Vice President, Global Tax Planning and Projects, the Assistant Vice President, Global Tax Planning & Transfer Pricing leads and manages all aspects of MVW’s global tax planning and transfer pricing function including the design, implementation, and governance of the Company’s international tax planning strategy and transfer pricing policy and operating model across all jurisdictions where MVW operates.
The role directs global operational transfer pricing, intercompany financing, global cash tax forecasting, cash repatriation, tax-efficient growth initiatives, transfer pricing documentation while ensuring intercompany agreements are consistent, well-supported, and audit-ready. The role also oversees Pillar Two calculations and related global compliance obligations.
Partners with the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Tax Accounting and Compliance teams in support of tax transformation initiatives that improve process standardization, automation, data governance, and technology-enabled solutions that enable oping scalable frameworks and playbooks that improve operational efficiency, transparency, and global tax risk management. Success in this role requires deep technical tax expertise, exceptional commercial acumen, and the ability to balance opportunity with intelligent risk management.
Objectives & Key Results
- Transfer Pricing Policy & Governance: Leads and manages MVW’s global transfer pricing policies, operating model, and intercompany agreements. KPI: Maintains compliance with global transfer pricing documentation requirements, e.g., master file, local file, and country-by-country reporting, across all material jurisdictions.
- Audit & Controversy Management: Leads MVW’s transfer pricing audit and controversy strategy. Sustains favorable outcomes in transfer pricing and cross-border tax audits, with zero unresolved material findings.
- Pillar Two & Global Compliance: Oversees Pillar Two calculations, i.e., GloBE income, effective tax rate, and top-up tax, and global compliance obligations, i.e., GloBE Information Return, Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax filings, and local notifications. Delivers Pillar Two global compliance filings on time across all in-scope jurisdictions.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Bridges tax provision and tax planning, partnering with tax compliance and tax accounting and managing the tax implications of global cash movements. Ensures timely, accurate hand-off transfer pricing positions into the provision and compliance process with no material rework.

Expected Contributions
Strategic Tax Planning & Direction
- Leads the strategic direction for MVW’s global tax planning and transfer pricing program, including policy design, operating model, and governance framework.
- Leads implementation of MVW's international tax planning strategies, including global cash tax management, intercompany financing, cash repatriation planning, cross-border business initiatives, and other tax-efficient structures aligned with the Company's global operating model and business objectives.
- Supports the development and execution of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for tax planning and transfer pricing outcomes and regularly reports results to senior business leaders.
- Leads complex enterprise tax projects requiring executive sponsorship, significant change management, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring timely execution and alignment with MVW's strategic priorities.
Tax Planning
- Manages the tax implications of global cash movements, including intercompany financing, dividends, repatriation, treasury-related initiatives, and other cross-border funding arrangements.
- Leads and manages Pillar Two calculation processes, i.e., GloBE income, effective tax rate, and top-up tax, and global compliance obligations, including the GloBE Information Return, Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax filings, and local notifications, ensuring MVW meets global minimum tax obligations in every in-scope jurisdiction.
- Bridges tax provision and tax planning, partnering closely with tax compliance and tax accounting to ensure consistent, well-supported positions.
Transfer Pricing
- Leads and manages global operational transfer pricing, ensuring intercompany transactions are priced, documented, and monitored consistently with the Company’s transfer pricing policy while supporting the implementation of global operating model changes and business initiatives impacting transfer pricing outcome.
- Leads global transfer pricing documentation, including master file, local file, and country-by-country reporting, across all jurisdictions where MVW operates.
- Directs transfer pricing audit and controversy strategy, engaging with tax authorities and external advisors as needed.
- Leads and manages MVW’s intercompany agreements, ensuring they remain current, accurate, and aligned with operational transfer pricing positions international tax planning strategies, and evolving business operations.
- Communicates transfer pricing strategy clearly to senior tax and finance leadership.
Stakeholder Partnership & External Advisor Management
- Ensures alignment among MVW Corporate COEs, e.g., Finance, Legal, Resort Operations, Marketing & Sales, Commercial Services, etc., and external tax auditors to ensure intended tax outcomes are accurately reflected in financial results and fully supported for audit and compliance purposes.
- Manages selection, engagement, relationships, and performance of external tax advisors involved with tax planning and transfer pricing.
Tax Transformation, Technology, & Process Excellence
- Evaluates tax implications of business model changes, geographic expansion, and strategic initiatives, partnering with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and business leaders to identify practical and sustainable tax planning opportunities while maintaining appropriate governance and risk management standards.
- Leads and manages tax transformation initiatives across the planning and transfer pricing functions, including automation, data governance, process optimization, governance frameworks, digital enablement, and effective use of AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making, scalability, productivity, and risk management
Leadership & Talent Development
- Builds and leads a high-performing team, including direct oversight of Director-level talent while fostering continuous learning, cross-functional expertise, and adoption of innovative technologies and processes.
- Performs other duties as appropriate.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or similar discipline required
- Advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, MBA, Juris Doctorate, or equivalent strongly preferred
Certifications Preferred
- Advanced coursework or demonstrated expertise in Pillar Two, OECD/BEPs, and Transfer Pricing
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- BAR membership, i.e., licensed attorney or JD admitted to the bar
Experience
- At least 10 years of progressive tax experience with significant time spent supporting complex multi-national business lines.
- At least three years of experience leading and managing teams.
- Proven track record designing, implementing, and governing global transfer pricing policy, documentation, and controversy programs.
- Proven experience defining and leading large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge of transfer pricing and OECD/BEPS and Pillar Two frameworks, including hands-on experience performing Pillar Two calculations (GloBE income, effective tax rate, and top-up tax) and managing global compliance filings (GloBE Information Return, Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax filings, and local notifications) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure, service-intensive, and deadline-driven environments.
- Experience in timeshare, real estate development, or hospitality preferred; high-value service industries preferred.
- Experience in a multi-national, matrix structured organization preferred.
