Are you a Backend Software Engineer looking to take real ownership of mission-critical data systems for autonomous robots, in a hands-on, fast-moving robotics start-up environment?

On offer is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing robotics business partnering directly with hospitals, where you’ll build the data infrastructure that enables robots to communicate, learn, and operate reliably as the fleet scales.

As a result of continued growth and expanding pilot programs, they are now looking to add a dedicated backend engineer into a small, expert engineering team working closely across hardware, firmware, and software.

In this role you will design high-throughput data pipelines for robotic telemetry and sensor data, build frameworks for real-time and post-trip analysis, optimize storage/latency for feedback loops, and collaborate with firmware to define data structures and transmission.

This role would suit a backend engineer with strong data architecture experience who wants genuine technical ownership, high-impact work deployed in the real world, and long-term progression as the company scales.

The Role:

*Build scalable data pipelines for robotic telemetry and sensor streams

*Real-time and post-trip analytics frameworks for robot performance and mapping

*Optimize data architecture for scale, low latency, and reliability

*Collaborate with firmware to define data structure and transmission

The Person:

*Strong backend development with a heavy focus on data architecture

*Experience with time-series data and large-scale streaming/processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark, or custom Python/C++ streams)

*Strong Python, C++ or Go plus SQL/NoSQL database experience
