Backend Engineer

About the Role

Join a six-person engineering team building agentic backend infrastructure for a healthtech AI platform that automates administrative clinical workflows. Your work will directly accelerate patient access to care and power the rapid customer onboarding that drives company growth. This is a high-ownership role where your contributions shape the product from day one.

What You'll Do

• Architect and deploy AI-native backend systems that process high-volume clinical data via API.

• Build reliable, secure agentic infrastructure capable of handling sensitive information at scale.

• Integrate direct customer feedback to shape product iterations end-to-end.

• Own critical backend infrastructure and drive its technical evolution.

• Scale systems and architecture to support rapid customer onboarding and company growth.

What We're Looking For

• 0 to 1 years of professional backend software development experience.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or a similar tool.

• Working understanding of prompt engineering.

• A strong version-control history showing active, meaningful code contributions.

• Currently employed at an established company (not self-employed or between roles).

• Passion for building impactful products in healthcare.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $120,000 to $250,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, CA, United States.
