Backend Engineer, Early Career

About the Role

Join a small engineering team at an AI-enabled healthcare technology startup, building backend systems that automate administrative clinical workflows and help patients access care sooner. You will develop infrastructure for customer onboarding and secure processing of clinical information.

What You'll Do

• Architect and deploy backend systems that process high volumes of data through APIs.

• Shape product iterations by incorporating direct customer feedback.

• Build reliable, secure agentic infrastructure for clinical information workflows.

• Own critical backend infrastructure and guide its technical evolution.

• Scale systems and architecture to support customer onboarding and business growth.

What We're Looking For

• Five or more years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field, with shipped production software or systems.

• Zero to one year of professional backend development experience.

• Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one major programming or systems language.

• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, and an understanding of prompt engineering.

• A strong record of meaningful contributions to software projects and an interest in building impactful healthcare products.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $120,000 to $250,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in Los Angeles, California.
