Reporting to the MedTech Programme Manager, and accountable through the Hub Director and the Managing and Medical Directors of Research and Innovation, the postholder will play a pivotal role in driving the Hub's success. Working across a diverse portfolio of innovation projects, they will establish robust governance processes, monitor performance and impact, support stakeholder engagement, and help ensure that new ideas translate into meaningful benefits for patients, staff and the wider healthcare system.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
The post holder will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Hub, supporting a portfolio of innovation projects from concept through to delivery and impact. Working closely with clinicians, researchers, industry partners and external organisations, they will help deliver a high-quality service that strengthens the Hub's portfolio and contributes to improvements in patient care, health outcomes and economic growth.
This is a varied and collaborative role requiring excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities. The post holder will work with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical and operational teams, the University of Birmingham, the NIHR Research Delivery Network, industry partners, regional health and care organisations, and other national bodies, building strong relationships to support successful project delivery.
The successful candidate will bring strong project management skills and a structured approach to governance, monitoring and reporting. They will be confident working independently, using sound judgement to prioritise workload and respond to changing demands, while also contributing to wider activities across the Research & Innovation Department.
