Overview The Section of Medical Oncology at Dartmouth Health is seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Oncologist specializing in Breast Oncology to join our comprehensive cancer program. Based at the Dartmouth Cancer Center—one of just a select group of NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country—this full-time role combines outstanding clinical care with rich opportunities for clinical research and academic teaching. You will collaborate within a highly integrated, multidisciplinary team of surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and advanced practice providers (APPs) to provide cutting-edge, compassionate care to patients with early-stage and advanced breast malignancies across Northern New England. Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Training: Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and a Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology fellowship. Responsibilities Clinical Excellence: Conduct outpatient clinical evaluations, interpret diagnostic staging, and design customized systemic therapeutic regimens, including chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted biologic treatments for breast cancer panels. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Actively lead and participate in the Dartmouth Cancer Center Comprehensive Breast Program tumor boards to design unified, multi-modality patient care plans. Clinical Research Involvement: Expand and leverage the institution’s robust clinical trial portfolio. Actively enroll eligible patients in early-phase or cooperative group clinical trials (Alliance, NRG, NCI) supported by our NCI-designated infrastructure. Academic & Teaching Duties: Provide dedicated instruction and mentorship to medical students, residents, and Hematology/Oncology fellows through clinical rotations and formal lectures. Secure an academic faculty appointment with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth at a rank commensurate with experience. Team-Based Care: Partner effectively with a built-in support network consisting of specialized nurse navigators, dedicated clinic nurses, research coordinators, and APPs within the breast oncology service lines.
