Are you a passionate Registered Nurse or Midwife who is excited by the future of healthcare and the opportunities virtual care provides to support families? Join the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) as a Virtual Care Child and Family Health Nurse/Midwife and help deliver accessible, high-quality care to children and families across the Central Coast through telehealth and digital health solutions.

About The Opportunity

As a Virtual Care Child and Family Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and carers as they navigate the rewarding, and sometimes challenging, early years of childhood through innovative virtual models of care.

This position plays a key role in delivering safe, accessible and family-centred services to children aged 0–5 years and their families through telehealth platforms. Working as part of the Child and Family Health Service, you will provide clinical assessment, triage, advice, care coordination and early intervention support, helping families access the right care at the right time while promoting healthy child development and wellbeing.

In This Role You Will

  • Provide telehealth assessment, triage and clinical advice to parents, carers and families with children aged 0–5 years.
  • Monitor and support child health, growth, development and wellbeing through virtual care consultations and evidence-based interventions.
  • Facilitate timely access to Child and Family Health services by assessing needs, coordinating referrals and connecting families with appropriate services and supports.
  • Deliver health education, parenting support and anticipatory guidance to empower families and promote positive health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure integrated, family-centred care across the care continuum.
  • Contribute to service innovation, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of contemporary virtual care models.

  • Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills, including experience delivering care via telephone and telehealth platforms.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and coordinate care across services.
  • A commitment to child safety, family-centred practice, continuous improvement and innovative models of care.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing or willingness to obtain one within two years.
