ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College La Moraleja is looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Chemistry Specialist to join our teaching team on a permanent, full-time basis from January 2027.
This is a specialist Chemistry teaching position, and we are specifically seeking a candidate with a strong academic and teaching background in Chemistry. The successful candidate will teach Double Award and Triple Award iGCSE Chemistry, supporting students to develop a strong understanding of the subject and achieve their full academic potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach Chemistry at iGCSE level, including both Double Award and Triple Award pathways.

Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured Chemistry lessons.

Develop students’ subject knowledge, practical skills, scientific thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Prepare students effectively for iGCSE examinations and support them in achieving strong academic outcomes.

Plan and deliver appropriate practical and laboratory-based activities in line with school procedures.

Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing regular and constructive feedback.

Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the needs of individual learners.

Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of the Science department.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.

A recognised teaching qualification appropriate for secondary education.

Strong previous experience teaching Chemistry, preferably at iGCSE level.

Experience teaching, or a strong understanding of, Double Award and Triple Award iGCSE Chemistry.

Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Chemistry and science education.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to engage and inspire students of different abilities and backgrounds.

Commitment to high academic standards and student progress.

Experience in an international or British-curriculum school would be advantageous.

Excellent spoken and written English.
