About the Role The US Electrical Power product area sits at the heart of aerospace electrification, and this role sits at the top of it. As a Chief Consulting Engineer in Power Generation, you will serve as the highest technical authority across a product domain spanning aerospace class electric machines from the kilowatt to megawatt range, covering Wound Field Synchronous, Permanent Magnet, Induction, and next generation architectures operating at voltages from 115 Vac to over 2000 Vac. Based in Dayton, OH and working on site, you will lead with broad authority and make decisions with long term implications for the business, the product portfolio, and the engineers who look to you for technical direction. Job Description In this role you will: Serve as the definitive technical authority for power generation within the Electrical Power domain, leading the lifecycle from design through integration Drive design reviews and design boards to deliver industry leading power generation solutions across the product portfolio Represent the Chief Engineer's Office by advancing design excellence, best practices, and rigorous technical standards throughout the organization Engage with aerospace industry leaders, academic institutions, and regulatory bodies to maintain state of the art competitiveness Mentor the global Controlled Title Holder community and coach engineers in their daily work to build the next generation of technical leaders Lead the Power Generation functional element of the Competency Model Framework to systematically grow capability across the product area Champion FLIGHT DECK principles and drive their adoption throughout the engineering organization The Ideal Candidate You are a seasoned technical leader who brings equal parts deep expertise and organizational influence. Basic Qualifications Technical degree in Engineering Minimum 15 years of experience in generation technologies related to Electrical Power product development Demonstrated expertise in power generation architecture, high power and high voltage generator systems, high altitude generator performance, electromagnetic machine design, thermal and oil systems, mechanical dynamics, power converter integration, modeling and simulation, and test and integration Working knowledge of commercial and military aerospace systems practices, industry standards, policies, and procedures Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline Experience with Electrical Power standards and processes Controlled Title Holder experience within GE Aerospace Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical ideas at all organizational levels Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence and build relationships across the organization Knowledge of and passion for FLIGHT DECK with a proven track record of driving its adoption within technical teams Additional Information This role requires on site presence in Dayton, OH Domestic and international travel may be required based on business needs This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
