We are hiring a Lead Cook to oversee daily food preparation and meal service at a U.S. military dining facility in Germany. You will coordinate the kitchen team, prepare meals in a high-volume setting, and ensure that food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met throughout each shift.

Key responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate cooks and kitchen staff during meal preparation and service.

* Prepare meals according to approved menus, recipes, and portion standards.

* Check food temperatures, monitor storage practices, and maintain required sanitation records.

* Train and guide kitchen staff on safe food handling, equipment use, and cleaning procedures.

* Coordinate with DFAC management to keep meal service on schedule and address issues as they arise.

Required qualifications

* German Gesellenbrief as a cook or an equivalent international culinary qualification.

* At least five years of food service experience within the past ten years.

* At least two years of experience as a Lead Cook.

* Food Handler certification and 40-hour food sanitation certification.

Preferred qualifications

* Previous experience working in a U.S. military dining facility (DFAC).

* Existing authorization to work in Germany.
