Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Energy & Commodity Trading | Dubai, UAE

Tura Executive is partnering with an established, fast growing international commodity trading group to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to support its continued growth and strategic development.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance executive with substantial experience in physical commodity trading, ideally across energy markets.

The successful individual will work closely with the shareholders and senior leadership team, taking ownership of the group's financial strategy, funding structures, treasury, risk framework and financial operations.

The Opportunity

The business is an established international trading operation with a significant presence in Dubai and additional international offices. With an established trading platform and ambitious growth plans, the CFO will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial infrastructure and supporting the next phase of expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership: Lead the group's overall financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Trade Finance & Banking: Manage relationships with international banks, financial institutions and funding partners, securing and optimising trade finance facilities, credit lines and working capital.
• Treasury & Liquidity: Oversee group treasury, cash flow, liquidity management, FX exposure and funding requirements across international entities.
• Commodity Trading Finance: Work closely with trading teams to understand physical trading activities, deal economics, trade P&L, margins, credit exposure and working capital requirements.
• Risk Management: Strengthen financial controls, credit risk policies, governance and compliance frameworks across the group.
• International Operations: Oversee financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring appropriate reporting structures, controls and processes.
• Strategic Development: Partner with shareholders and senior management on business expansion, new trading activities, financing structures and potential investments.
• Leadership: Develop and lead the finance function, building the capabilities and infrastructure required to support a growing international trading business.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally as a CFO, Group CFO or Finance Director within a physical commodity trading business.
• Strong exposure to energy trading, including crude oil, petroleum products, refined products, bunkering or related markets.
• Demonstrable experience managing substantial trade finance facilities and negotiating banking relationships.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading mechanics, including LCs, structured trade finance, working capital, treasury and trading-related risk.
• Experience working directly with shareholders, CEOs and Boards in commercially driven trading environments.
• International experience managing multi-entity businesses and cross-border financial operations.
• Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
