Job Posting: Child and Youth Care Worker in Beautiful Northern BC Our agency is expanding, and we are hiring for Child and Youth Care Workers We are looking for a Child and Youth Care Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team to work with children birth – 19 years of age. The Child and Youth Care Worker would use family-centered, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches to provide consultation, assessment, intervention and monitoring. The position is permanent part-time. This contract is funded by the Ministry for Children and Family Development. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Child and Youth Care worker consists of, but are not limited to the following: Meet with clients on scheduled session dates and carry out scheduled plans from the service plan To communicate effectively with children, families, and the KCDC team Write progress notes, service plans, and reports as needed Consult with Program Manager monthly regarding client progress Participate as required in service plan and staff meetings Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Manager Qualifications Certificate or Diploma in Human Service Worker, Child and Youth Care, Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent Valid class 5 driver’s license and vehicle to meet CDC policy standards Basic First Aid Completed Criminal Record Check Demonstrated ability: Facilitate groups Knowledge of community resources for children and youth Experience working with neurodiverse children and youth Sensitivity and understanding of local cultures To communicate effectively with children, families, and the KCDC team To carry out goals written in the client’s service plan To write detailed reports on steps taken to achieve goals during sessions To be reliable with clients and hand reports in by their due date To attend meetings as requested by the programs manager To recognize own limitations and consult, refer, or delegate where appropriate Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position Ability to work flexible hours; some weekends and evenings How to apply: Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter through Indeed.
