Construction Manager (Civil) | Northern Territory

Senior leadership role with a major principal contractor, overseeing multiple large-scale civil construction projects across the NT, with a strong focus on government, defence and infrastructure projects.

This role is based in Darwin, NT. No FIFO option.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior management team you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple concurrent civil projects, including:

• Project program, productivity, quality/conformance and safety
• Leadership, mentoring and performance of project teams
• Resource planning and team integration
• Development and monitoring of construction methodologies
• Commercial and financial performance
• Supporting Pre-Contracts with programming and methodology
• Maintaining strong client/stakeholder relationships and company reputation

Key Requirements

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years' post-graduate experience with a Principal Contractor
• Proven delivery of $10M+ projects
• Experience managing hard-dollar projects over $10M
• Strong project and financial management, forecasting, procurement and contract management experience
• Strong commercial acumen
• Demonstrated ability to drive programs and achieve project objectives
• Proven leadership of large project teams with a strong safety focus
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Cultural awareness when working with diverse workforces and stakeholders
• Australian citizen and able to obtain government security clearance

Bottom Line

This is a senior Construction Manager position, rather than a single-project PM role. We are looking for someone with a strong Tier 1/Tier 2 principal contractor background, proven $10M+ civil project delivery, solid commercial capability, and the leadership experience to oversee projects simultaneously.
