Civil Engineer

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the design of structural steel components, including open web steel joists, girders, and steel decking.

Key Responsibilities

• Design structural steel and connections in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Design steel joists, girders, and decking following SJI and SDI standards.
• Interpret contract documents and communicate with architects, engineers, and fabricators.
• Provide engineering guidance to detailing, design, sales, and production teams.
• Complete roof and floor designs for commercial projects, including retail buildings, schools, and warehouses.
• Review and seal engineering calculations for submittals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education qualifying for Civil P.E. licensure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to Mexico as needed; visa and travel authorization support provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the steel joist industry or structural steel design.
• Civil E.I.T. certification and interest in obtaining a P.E. license.
• Active Civil P.E. license.
