# CNC Lathe Programmer / Setter / Operator
Location: Northern Ireland
Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:30
- Friday: 08:00 – 14:00
- Day shift only
- No weekend working
- No night shifts
## About the Role
An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer, Setter and Operator to join its growing team.
This is a hands-on role involving a wide variety of precision-machined components for industrial applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, working independently from engineering drawings through to completed components manufactured to tight tolerances.
This position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys varied, high-mix, low-volume work rather than repetitive production machining.
## Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' CNC machining experience
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes
- Experience using Fanuc controls
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Capable of producing finished components independently without supervision
- Strong experience with small-batch and high-mix manufacturing environments
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
## Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Pipe welding background
- CNC milling experience
- Manual machining experience
- CAD/CAM experience
- Experience machining large castings and forgings
- Experience machining steel and stainless steel components
