The primary function of the Commercial Engineering and Codes & Standards Manager is to lead Bussmann's customer-facing technical organization and its codes & standards agenda: winning specifications and conversions, enabling customers and Sales, and protecting and shaping the market for overcurrent protection. The position is accountable for the Shape (Codes & Standards) and Enable (technical enablement and winning) pillars of the Bussmann Marketing operating model, and owns Bussmann's codes and standards strategy and leadership, coordinated with broader Eaton positions. This Manager also establishes Eaton's voice in the electrical industry through standards board participation, industry and government relationships, publications and presentations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $146000 - $215000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

  • Ensure Bussmann understands the overcurrent protection implications of every material code and standards change; for example, when a code change is unfavorable to fuses, assesses the impact on fuses and leads the response.
  • Establish and grows Bussmann's seats on codes, standards and regulatory boards, and assigns and develops team members to cover priority panels and committees with primary and backup coverage.
  • Develop Bussmann's technical positions and codes & standards proposals, and escalates material positions to the Marketing Director for approval.
  • Build and strengthens national relationships with industry associations (e.g., NEMA, NFPA, IAEI) and represents Eaton and industry positions to electrical industry and governmental groups.

  • Deliver, through the Manager – Application Engineering, timely and accurate application support, technical documentation and technical marketing collateral with source-of-truth controls, and owns technical training strategy and curriculum for customers, distributors and Sales, delivered at headquarters and in the field.
  • Shape the technical content, demonstrations and applications displayed in the Bussmann Experience Center through a functional relationship with the Experience Center Manager (who reports to the Commercial Engagement Manager), so the Center reflects priority applications, code changes and Bussmann's overcurrent protection position.
