Commissioning Lead / Senior Commissioning Manager

Client-Side Commissioning Lead / Senior Commissioning Manager – All Disciplines | Data Centre | Norway

We are partnering with a specialist data centre delivery firm to appoint a Commissioning Lead / Senior Commissioning Manager to head commissioning within their client-side team, representing the owner on a large-scale data centre programme in Norway.

Data centre experience is essential; applications without it will not be considered.

The Role

As the senior commissioning authority on the client side, you will lead commissioning assurance and oversight of the main contractor, CxA, and trade packages across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, controls, fire, and life safety), protecting the owner's interests from design review through to handover.

• Own the client's commissioning strategy, requirements, and acceptance criteria
• Lead and mentor the client-side commissioning team
• Review and approve contractor commissioning plans, scripts, and IST procedures
• Witness and sign off L1–L5 commissioning on behalf of the client
• Hold contractors and CxAs accountable for issue and defect close-out
• Assure system readiness, energisation, and integrated systems testing
• Verify FDV/O&M documentation and operational handover completeness
• Report commissioning progress and risks to client leadership and senior stakeholders

Requirements

• 6+ years commissioning experience, with essential client-side, owner's rep, or PMC background
• Minimum 4 years' commissioning experience on data centre projects (hyperscale, colo, or neocloud)
• Proven experience leading commissioning teams and overseeing contractors and CxAs
• Multi-discipline knowledge: HV/LV, UPS, generators, HVAC, chillers, BMS/EPMS, fire systems
• Strong IST and L5 integrated testing leadership
• Confident engaging and influencing senior client stakeholders
• Engineering degree or relevant technical qualification
• Familiarity with NS-EN standards and TEK17 advantageous
• Experience with commissioning platforms (Facility Grid, Procore, Dalux, ACC)
• Fluent English; Norwegian/Scandinavian language a plus
