Job Title: Community Place Manager
Posting Start Date: 21/10/2026
Job Description:

Gamuda Australia is a global engineering and construction leader specialising in the design, delivery, and maintenance of large-scale transport, civil, and energy infrastructure. In Australia, our footprint is expanding rapidly through major packages for Sydney Metro—including the Western Tunnelling Package and the Stations Package West—alongside landmark joint ventures like the Coffs Harbour Bypass and the M1 Motorway Extension.

Following the award of the Parramatta Integrated Station Development (ISD), a consortium led by Gamuda Engineering, alongside Gamuda and MTR Corporation, is delivering the design and construction of the new Parramatta Metro Station, its surrounding precinct, and the integrated developments above and adjacent to the station as part of Sydney Metro West.

The Role

The Community Place Manager will play a key role in driving precinct place management, community integration, and stakeholder relations for the Parramatta Integrated Station Development.
You will be the key interface between the project delivery team, the client, local businesses, residents, council and surrounding institutional stakeholders. Your focus will be on shaping a positive precinct identity, mitigating construction impacts on the local community and commercial ecosystem, and ensuring the smooth integration of station construction with public domain and over-station development workfronts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the project’s Place Management Strategy and Precinct Stakeholder Engagement Management Plan in alignment with client and consortium commitments.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders, including the City of Parramatta, local commerce chambers, community groups, land-owners and transport authorities.
• Manage precinct risk mitigation, anticipating community concerns related to noise, dust, pedestrian diversions, and traffic staging, and developing proactive mitigation plans.
• Oversee incoming community inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely, empathetic, and compliant resolution.
• Partner closely with construction, design, and traffic engineering teams to ensure community commitments and place outcomes are embedded into daily site operations.
• Lead stakeholder reporting and registers, maintaining accurate consultation logs, impact assessments, and monthly client reporting metrics.
• Support project leadership through the development of internal communications processes and championing a positive team culture.

Your Skills and Experience

You are an influential, resilient place management or community relations professional with a deep understanding of urban precinct dynamics and major infrastructure environments.
You will possess relevant qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or similar along with:

• Proven experience in Community Place Management and Stakeholder Engagement on major infrastructure, transit-oriented development or urban renewal projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing precinct impacts within high-density commercial or CBD environments.
• Exceptional issue-resolution skills with a proven ability to mediate complex public inquiries, business disruption concerns, and conflict with diplomacy and tact.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to influence site delivery teams.

At Gamuda, we offer the opportunity to play a central role in a landmark, city-shaping infrastructure project. We foster a collaborative, high-performing culture that aspires to be an employer of choice in the Australian infrastructure sector.

Gamuda Australia encourages and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce, including those from overseas and current Visa holders. Gamuda appreciates your application, and we will endeavour to respond as soon as practicable.

Unsolicited agency CVs submitted to Gamuda will not be accepted.
