Job Title: Operations Manager - Offshore Inspection & Technical Services

Location: Darwin, Northern Territory

Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

An established international engineering and technical services company is looking for an Operations Manager to lead and develop its growing Darwin operation.

With active offshore projects and established client relationships already in place, this person will take ownership of project delivery, offshore mobilisation, client management and operational performance, while gradually building the local team and operational capability.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Offshore Project Manager, Inspection Manager or technical operations professional looking to step into a broader leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Darwin business.
  • Manage offshore inspection and technical services projects from mobilisation through delivery.
  • Coordinate personnel, equipment, logistics and offshore resources.
  • Manage existing client relationships and identify opportunities to grow current accounts.
  • Monitor project budgets, margins, schedules and operational performance.
  • Recruit and develop a local technical and operational team as the business grows.
  • Support the establishment of a permanent local office and operational base.
  • Maintain strong HSEQ, compliance and technical service standards.
  • Work closely with the wider Australian operation to support continued growth.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • 5+ years' experience in offshore inspection, NDT, lifting inspection, asset integrity or related technical services.
  • At least 2-3 years of offshore inspection/project experience.
  • Strong project management and personnel mobilisation experience.
  • Good understanding of offshore operations and technical service delivery.
  • Client-facing and account management capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness across project costs, budgets and margins.
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience within the Australian offshore, energy or industrial market would be advantageous, but candidates from other locations may also be considered.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Take ownership of a growing regional operation.
  • Step from offshore/project delivery into a predominantly onshore leadership role.
  • Build and lead your own local operational team.
  • Work with established offshore and energy clients.
  • Play a key role in shaping the company's long-term presence in Darwin.
  • Approximately 2-3 offshore trips may be required initially, reducing as the local operation grows.
  • Relocation assistance and potential visa support may be considered for the right candidate.

If you have a background in offshore inspection or technical services and are ready to take the next step into operational leadership, we'd be keen to hear from you.
