Show job description

From sea to sky, from Norway to the world.

At Noemi Aerospace, we’re building the future of coastal mobility through Noemi, the world’s first fully electric seaplane. Our versatile, 9-passenger electric seaplanes can also move up to one tonne of cargo - quietly and with zero emissions. City harbor to city harbor? Easy. We’re amphibious too, requiring only short distances for takeoff and landing at traditional airports.

Noemi Aerospace is a growing startup with a multinational team of 30+ passionate employees. We offer an informal, playful, and dynamic work atmosphere where your voice truly matters and the days fly by.

We will make sure you receive a warm welcome and full support settling in with our manufacturing and engineering team at Torp Airport, Sandefjord.

About the position

We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Composite / Airframe Laminator to join our prototype manufacturing and production team. In this role, you will play a hands-on part in shaping the physical structure of Noemi - laying up advanced carbon-fiber composite materials to build light, ultra-durable airframe structures and hull components designed for harsh maritime and aerospace environments.

Main responsibilities

  • Precision Layup & Assembly: Perform wet and dry carbon-fiber/fiberglass hand layups, pre-preg laminating, and core material placement (foam/honeycomb) following engineering drawings, ply books, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Vacuum Bagging & Curing: Prepare and execute vacuum bagging processes, perform leak checks, and monitor oven and autoclave curing cycles for structural aerospace components.

  • Tooling & Mold Preparation: Clean, treat, apply release agents, and maintain molds, patterns, and composite tooling.

  • Component Finishing & Inspection: Perform trimming, deburring, drilling, surface sanding, bonded joint assembly, and visual inspect completed parts to meet strict quality control standards.

  • Process Documentation: Accurately record process parameters, resin batch numbers, laminate traceability data, and quality check sheets in accordance with aviation standards.

  • Workshop Safety & Standards: Maintain a safe, organized workspace (5S), complying with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines regarding resin handling, chemical safety, and PPE.

Your profile

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Background: Trade certificate or vocational diploma in Composites, Plastics/Materials, Aircraft Maintenance, or a related field. Equivalent documented practical experience in composite laminating will also be considered.

  • Industry Experience: 2+ years of hands-on laminating experience with carbon fiber, pre-pregs, epoxy resin systems, and structural core materials (aerospace, automotive, maritime, or wind energy sectors).

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical blueprints, ply lay-up schedules, and work instructions.

  • Language: Good communication skills in English (our internal company language).

  • Precision & Craftsmanship: High attention to detail, strong dexterity, and a personal pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with composite hull construction or marine/sea-facing structural applications.

  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems (AS9100 / EASA Part 21G manufacturing environment).

  • Hands-on experience with resin infusion (RTM/VARI), adhesive bonding and composite repair techniques.

  • Experience in prototype or low-volume specialized manufacturing environments where flexibility and problemsolving are key.

We offer

  • Impact: A central role in a groundbreaking electric aviation project bringing sustainable flight to Norway and the world.

  • Culture: An experienced, innovative, and fun team driven by a shared passion for aviation.

  • Compensation & Benefits: Stock option plan and flexible working hours to support a healthy work-life balance.

  • Workplace Variety: A balanced mix of office and hands-on workshop environments.

  • Relocation & Onboarding: Comprehensive onboarding, including support for foreign residents moving to Norway.

Location & Application

  • Workplace: Torp Airport in Sandefjord -located on Norway's southeast coastline, known for its mild winters and vibrant summer life.

  • Process: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Noemi Aerospace is an equal opportunity employer. We foster an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences thrive. Every applicant receives fair and equal consideration.
