Bring your clinical expertise to the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital. As a senior clinician in our Neonatal Medicine team, you will step into a purpose-built 39-cot facility—featuring 18 dedicated NICU/HDU cots—operating within a high-volume division that delivered 7,205 babies last year.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary network of specialist obstetricians, Maternal Fetal Medicine experts, and paediatric sub-specialists, you will drive clinical excellence, spearhead evidence-based protocols, and mentor the next generation of medical trainees.

Your role & Impact:

• Clinical Leadership: Deliver high-quality, empathetic care while driving evidence-based protocols and complex neonatal treatment plans
• Workforce Mentorship: Provide clinical teaching and accountable supervision to Junior Medical Staff and registrar trainees
• Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside specialist obstetricians, Maternal Fetal Medicine experts, and allied health teams
• Operational Excellence: Utilise clinical data to optimise patient length of stay and support departmental growth

About You:

We are seeking an experienced Consultant who has:

• Specialist Postgraduate Qualification: CCT, or CCST in Paediatrics with a sub-specialty accreditation in Neonatal Medicine. FCPaed(SA), MMed(Paed), or equivalent South African sub-specialty certificates
• Clinical Consultant Experience: 5+ years of active, post-qualification experience
• Desirable: Research degree, or practical experience in neonatal ultrasound scanning
