Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site position that may require rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, exercises, and crisis-response support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor ongoing operations, significant activities, incidents, taskings, operational requirements, and emerging events.
- Maintain the current operational picture and ensure relevant information is accurately reflected in operational trackers, logs, reports, briefings, and command-and-control systems.
- Collect, review, analyze, consolidate, and disseminate operational information received from subordinate units, higher headquarters, staff sections, mission partners, and reporting systems.
- Identify operational risks, information gaps, conflicting reports, overdue actions, and matters requiring leadership attention.
- Prepare and update situation reports, executive summaries, significant-activity reports, operational summaries, running estimates, briefings, and decision-support products.
- Support the receipt, review, dissemination, and tracking of operation orders, warning orders, fragmentary orders, execution orders, requests for information, and command taskings.
- Track assigned actions and operational requirements through completion.
- Coordinate with staff sections, supported units, higher headquarters, and joint, interagency, allied, coalition, and multinational mission partners.
- Participate in battle-rhythm events, shift-change briefings, operational updates, working groups, synchronization meetings, and planning sessions.
- Maintain detailed watch logs, incident records, operational histories, continuity files, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct thorough shift turnovers to ensure continuity of operations.
- Support exercises, contingency operations, crisis-action activities, and command-post operations.
- Operate classified communications, collaboration, messaging, and command-and-control systems as required.
- Immediately notify appropriate personnel of significant events and provide clear, accurate, and timely operational information.
Position Specific Qualifications
- Relevant experience supporting current operations, military operations, command-post operations, operations-center activities, watch-floor operations, or comparable operational missions.
- Experience maintaining situational awareness, monitoring ongoing missions, and identifying significant operational developments.
- Experience producing or maintaining operational reports, briefings, logs, trackers, situation reports, executive summaries, or significant-activity reports.
- Experience coordinating operational information across multiple units, headquarters, staff sections, or mission partners.
- Familiarity with military orders, command taskings, battle-rhythm events, operational reporting, and staff coordination.
- Ability to evaluate incoming information, recognize matters requiring immediate attention, and communicate those matters clearly to leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent actions in a time-sensitive operational environment.
General Qualifications
Requirements vary by labor category and position level. Candidates must possess:
U.S. citizenship.
An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Relevant education and experience for the applicable Junior, Journeyman, or Senior labor category.
The ability to work full-time and on-site at the assigned OCONUS location.
The ability to obtain and maintain applicable Status of Forces Agreement, Technical Representative, or other required overseas work authorization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to support mission-driven priorities in classified or operational environments.
The ability to travel, work shifts, or work outside normal duty hours when required by the position.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following combinations:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–10 years of relevant experience in current operations, military operations, command-post operations, operations-center support, watch-floor operations, or a closely related field.
- Associate’s degree and 5–12 years of total relevant experience, including directly applicable operational experience.
- No degree and 7–16 years of total relevant experience, including directly applicable operational experience.
- Previous service as a CUOPS Watchstander, JOC Watch Officer, Battle Captain, Battle NCO, Operations Officer, Operations NCO, Command Post Watch Officer, or similar position.
- Experience supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa, U.S. European Command, an Army Service Component Command, Joint Task Force, corps, division, brigade, or equivalent headquarters.
- Experience working in joint, interagency, allied, coalition, NATO, or multinational environments.
- Experience with GCCS, CPCE, CPOF, DCGS-A, or comparable command-and-control and common-operational-picture systems.
- Experience using military messaging, collaboration, SharePoint, knowledge-management, or task-management systems.
- Experience developing, reviewing, or tracking OPORDs, WARNORDs, FRAGORDs, EXORDs, RFIs, and command taskings.
- Experience supporting crisis-action planning, contingency operations, exercises, or continuous 24-hour operations.
- Knowledge of Army and joint operational processes, military decision-making, staff coordination, and battle-rhythm management.
Overseas Assignment
Positions are located at supported OCONUS intelligence mission locations. Work is performed full-time and on-site in classified, operational, secure-facility, construction-site, or military environments, depending on the position.
Depending on the position, contract authorization, and individual eligibility, overseas support may include:

Authorized logistical privileges
Family-accompanied assignment where permitted
