Job Description Summary

The 2D Customer Drawings Engineer owns the development and delivery of project schematics/P&IDs and associated engineering lists for GE Vernova HDPE scope, including gas turbine (GT), steam turbine (ST), and generator accessories. The role brings together inputs from system owners and partner disciplines to produce coordinated, accurate, and timely customer deliverables.
Acting as the System Interface Owner for the 2D drawing package, the 2D CDE establishes clear interfaces, checks that inputs are complete and consistent, and coordinates resolution of cross-functional issues. The role is focused on delivering a defined, less-complex scope—not overall plant systems integration—while applying systems-engineering principles to protect quality, schedule, and customer commitments.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own the project P&ID and associated engineering-list package for assigned GT, ST, and generator-accessory scope.
  • Establish and maintain the drawing-package scope, input requirements, interfaces, assumptions, and delivery milestones.
  • Initiate project setup in Aveva and coordinate the P&ID execution process.
  • Collect and integrate technical inputs from system owners and relevant engineering teams; coordinate with PDE to develop schematics.
  • Check and ensure maturity of inputs for completeness, consistency, and alignment with project requirements before incorporation into drawings and lists.
  • Lead drawing-package reviews and track actions through resolution, escalating technical or schedule risks when needed.
  • Assess the impact of changes to assigned scope and interfaces; communicate changes to affected stakeholders and keep deliverables aligned.
  • Release customer drawings and engineering lists in accordance with project quality requirements and schedule commitments.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, Controls, Electrical, CMPD, EPC partners, and customers on matters affecting the assigned package.
  • Support system owners in the use of Aveva Engineering and contribute to reference-plant creation and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and harmonization of P&ID and engineering-list methods, tools, and content across the global CDE team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience working with engineering drawings, technical inputs, or customer deliverables in a project environment..

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of GT, ST, and generator-accessory systems and their associated interfaces.
  • Familiarity with HDPE systems, processes, and tools.
  • Experience with Aveva or comparable engineering tools.
  • Strong coordination and follow-through skills, including the ability to identify gaps, resolve interface issues, and escalate risks.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, and committed to quality and on-time delivery.
  • Strategic thinking and mindset for continuous improvement.
