About the employer:

FinTech portfolio company: the portco is building financial and market infrastructure for AI compute. Its GPU compute price indices are already live on Bloomberg Terminal.

You'll build the datasets, pipelines, and models behind its research and pricing products, covering pricing, supply, capacity, transactions, and hardware economics in the GPU market. You'll own projects end to end, from the market question through publication.

About the role:

This is a hands-on data role combining production Python and SQL, data modeling, and market research that traders and customers rely on.

$140K–$200K base + equity

Relocation assistance available; visa sponsorship considered case by case

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain datasets on GPU providers, datacenter capacity, hardware, pricing offers, and executed transactions.
• Develop scrapers, integrations, and pipelines to collect data from fragmented sources.
• Model forward pricing curves, payback periods, total cost of ownership, and residual hardware values.
• Develop and validate the methodology behind GPU compute pricing indices.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data science, or quantitative research.
• Strong production Python and SQL skills, including work in shared codebases with code review.
• Solid statistics and the ability to spot bias, outliers, and unreliable data.
• The ability to turn ambiguous questions into defensible conclusions.

Quant trading or market data, commodities or energy pricing, web scraping and ETL, GPU or cloud infrastructure economics, and index methodology experience are a plus.

Small team, high autonomy, and direct ownership of the data foundation for a market that's just forming.
