Fancy running the floor on some of Europe's biggest AI-era data centre builds? A fast-growing fibre infrastructure specialist needs a hands-on lead to head up site crews installing and testing fibre at serious scale. You'll still have your splicer in hand when it counts, but this is a step-up role: the site is yours to run.

The role

You'll be the senior person on the ground: organising engineers and subcontractors, keeping the client onside day to day, and reporting progress and risks back to the project manager each evening. You'll oversee installation and commissioning against agreed test standards, keep paperwork tight, and leave every environment clean, safe and live.

Day to day

• Running crews of engineers and subcontractors on site
• Splicing and testing fibre yourself (ILM and OTDR, single-mode and multi-mode)
• Planning cable routes, access and working at height logistics
• Daily progress, risk and escalation updates to the project manager
• Commissioning installs and signing off test results and records
• Owning safety on site: method statements, risk assessments, best practice
• Flagging when crews need scaling up and helping sort materials and logistics

What you'll bring

• Experience leading installation teams in data centres or similar critical environments
• Confident hands-on fibre skills: splicing plus ILM/OTDR testing on single-mode and multi-mode
• Recognised fibre and copper cabling certifications and structured cabling training
• Ability to read patching schedules, connectivity drawings and safety documentation
• Comfortable with Office 365 for reporting and records
• Flexibility for travel, night shifts and multi-week assignments when projects demand it

Nice to have

• Team leader or PM training
• CSCS card or equivalent, first aid certificate
