Design Engineer

About the Role

Join a small product team at a cloud infrastructure software company, helping make complex developer tools clear, polished, and enjoyable to use. This hands-on role combines product design and frontend engineering, with room to take on broader ownership of the design function over time.

What You'll Do

• Refine information architecture and core user flows across a SaaS platform for deploying and managing applications.

• Build polished, production-ready interfaces using React and TypeScript, with close attention to visual details and interaction quality.

• Design and implement micro-interactions, including icon animations, loading states, and other interface feedback.

• Collaborate with product and frontend engineering teammates to review designs and ship improvements.

• Help develop reusable components and consistent patterns across product interfaces.

What We're Looking For

• Two to five years of experience as a frontend engineer or design engineer working on SaaS product interfaces.

• Strong production experience with React and TypeScript, with most of your work focused on building and shipping frontend code.

• Experience designing for dense SaaS or developer tools, including complex dashboards, tables, or forms.

• A portfolio or work samples that demonstrate strong craft, interface polish, and attention to micro-interactions.

• Experience with Figma, product design, and collaborating closely with engineers.

• A systems mindset and interest in building reusable components and patterns.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $220,000 to $280,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

This is an on-site role in New York, New York, with work in person five days per week.
